Fried Chicken & Champagne Pop-up Event |December 15, 2024

Charlotte Wine + Food hosted the Fried Chicken & Champagne Pop-up Event featuring a selection of ten Champagnes with vintage selections from the cellar of Donald and Brenda Thompson and current release selections curated by Tim Wallace of the Wine Vault. Guests enjoyed fried chicken and an assortment of sides by The Chicken Shop at Market Express, along with Ruffles potato chips, crème fraîche, and Imperia royal osetra caviar!

Featured wines included the 2012 Louis Roederer Cristal, Louis Roederer “Collection 243”, Laurent Perrier Brut Rosé, 2015 Roederer “Philippe Starck” Brut Nature Rosé, 2012 Billecart-Salmon “Cuvée Elisabeth” Brut Rosé, Billecart-Salmon Extra Brut, 2000 Krug, and Krug Grande Cuvée.

To finish the afternoon, guests enjoyed brown butter biscoff cookies by Honeybear Bake Shop.

A short live auction was held featuring a selection of four 750 mL Champagnes donated generously by our distribution and supplier partners - a Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle No. 26 with Gift Box, a 2018 Lilbert et Fils Cramant Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut, a 2013 Dom Perignon and a 2015 Roederer “Philippe Starck” Brut Nature Rosé.

In total the spirited event raised over $7,000 for our beneficiaries. Special thanks to Donald and Brenda Thompson and Tim Wallace of the Wine Vault for making this possible!

All proceeds benefited A Child’s Place- a program of Thompson, Augustine Literacy Project, Digi-Bridge, and Wayfinders.
