Donates $180,000 to Children’s Charities
at the Check Presentation Celebration | June 19, 2019

Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend hosted a Check Presentation Celebration on Tuesday, June 19. Executive Director, Lauren Deese and Chairman, Phil Smith, EVP & Head of Specialized Industries announced that we raised $180,000. Checks were presented to Charlotte Concerts, The Council for Children’s Rights, Mitchell’s Fund, Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center, and The Relatives.

Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend also held an awards ceremony during the evening. Kelley Jones was the recipient of The Bob Redd Award for an outstanding industry supporter, and Palmer Steel received the Chairman’s Award for showing the strongest commitment of support shown by a serving board member. Alison Summerville, Business Administration Executive with Ally Financial was announced as the new Chairman and Phil Smith with Wells Fargo was celebrated for his service as Chairman from 2016 to 2019.

The special evening was hosted graciously at the residence of Bruce & Leslie Schlernitzauer and featured an incredible spread of appetizers courtesy of their catering company, Porcupine Provisions.
