Charlotte Wine + Food Board Chairman Palmer Steel and his fiance Maria hosted a special evening of fine wine curated from his personal cellar paired with the culinary stylings of Chef Sam Hart of Counter-, one of Charlotte's most innovative newcomers to its food scene. This private invite-only affair was a special fundraiser celebration following the completion of Charlotte Wine + Food Week presented by Truist and featured a custom 8-course menu and 9 wines.
The featured wines included the 2019 Peter Michael “L’Après-Midi” Knights Valley Sauvignon Blanc, 2006 Pol Roger 'Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill' Brut Champagne, 2008 López de Heredia 'Viña Tondonia' Gran Reserva Rosado Rioja, 2011 Sine Qua Non 'The Moment' California White Blend, 2014 Delas Frères 'Les Bessards' Hermitage, 2014 Sine Qua Non 'Piranha Waterdance' California Syrah, 2016 Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon, Krug 'Grande Cuvée' 166 Ème Édition Brut Champagne, and 2009 Fonseca Vintage Port.
All proceeds benefited GenOne, Mitchell’s Fund, The Learning Collaborative, and The Relatives.
